Warcraft - Volume 1 by Dave Brasgalla
I, like millions of other gamers, am happily addicted to playing World of Warcraft, Blizzard’s insanely popular MMORPG. The game is an amazing achievement on a a number of levels, but one of the things I like most about WoW is the slightly cartoonish, “fairytale” style inherent in the graphic.
Naturally, I started making icons for my own use based on the game, starting with a proper OS X-style application icon. I’ve actually found it quite difficult to marry the game’s distinctive graphic feel with the lighting and volume of Aqua-style icons, and have met with varying degrees of success in different icons. On the whole, however, I am pleased with the way these have turned out.
Over time, I’ve created others for my personal desktop, as well as various desktop pictures. I’ve certainly got a long list of more ideas for various icons, but I thought I’d release the ones I have made thus far, so that other fans of the game can enjoy them as well. I’m sure there will be more to come, but right now I’m late for a Molten Core raid… kk
